God’s House

2 year old Anthony hauling lumber

This is a vacation bible school we wrote ourselves. As we added to the playground every day, we talked about how each part is a necessary element to the structure of the church.

Eph 2:19-22 So then, you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, built on the foundation of the apostles, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone, in whom the whole structure, being joined together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord. In Him you also are being built together into a dwelling place for God by the Spirit.

Day 1: Blueprints and plans.

just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved.

In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace which He made to abound toward us in all wisdom and prudence, having made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His good pleasure which He purposed in Himself,

Ephesians 1:4-9

Day 2: Foundation

Jesus is the cornerstone; we are rooted and grounded in His word.

Kids had to dig the holes, and we poured concrete footings to attach the structure to.

Day 3: Structure

God uses all different talents and abilities to His house structural integrity. We need the strengths of every individual.

We erected the poles that were to hold up the swing set and platforms.

Day 4: Unity

Ephesians 4:16 From whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love.

Started attaching the hardware, nuts and bolts, and tightening the structure down.

Day 5: We can see how God’s house can be used.

The Fun stuff. The fellowship that we have with Christians is because of the spiritual structure that is the Church.

We did a little craft with the little ones that were too young to work on the playground as well. Ann worked on making a Bible village to use for teaching Bible stories. (Center photo)
